We bring deep experience as operators

Alaina Flowers, Founder of Fresh Eyes, spent over a decade building infrastructure inside of social impact organizations—building systems and organizations from scratch, stabilizing organizations, and making things work with constrained resources.

She has designed companies and non-profit organizations for scale, built operational infrastructure from the ground up, and stabilized organizational crises when survival was on the line.

Now she brings that operator experience to mission-driven organizations as an external partner. Her approach combines service design methodology with hard-won operational expertise.

Most consultants have spent their careers analyzing organizations from the outside. They’re excellent at pattern recognition and delivering frameworks, but they’ve never had to live with the consequences of their recommendations.

As operators, we’ve designed systems, implemented them, iterated when they didn’t work, and managed them at scale. We know first-hand what it's like to scale with limited resources, navigate competing stakeholder demands, and design systems that need to work immediately. We know the difference between theory and what actually works when your team is stretched thin, you’re managing competing priorities, resources are limited, and every decision matters.

We don’t just recommend changes; we help you and your team build the capability to execute them.

This means we design solutions that are practical. We understand implementation challenges because we’ve lived them. And we know how to build your team’s capability because we’ve had to build our own.

I started my career by founding Detroit Tech Tutoring—a free peer tutoring nonprofit that created jobs for students at my high school and provided academic support to those who needed it— while I was a student there. I was the visionary who conceptualized and designed the service, raised the funds, launched, and led the organization.

I’ve also spent more than a decade as the problem-solver inside mission-driven organizations, translating others’ visions into execution and transforming organizations.

I work at the intersection of data and human insight, bringing clarity to issues that feel intangible and helping leaders make decisions that stick.

I've guided executives across sectors to create more inclusive systems and translate strategic goals into operational reality.

Rooted in a strong work ethic forged as a migrant farmworker, I am a highly accomplished operations leader with 20+ years of experience in mission-driven organizations focused on arts & culture, community development, and education.

At the places I’ve worked, I’ve been known as the person people trust when they want things done, and they want them done well.

I have:

  • Managed multi-million dollar budgets

  • Led community engagement for organizations

  • Managed multi-site workplace operations, including security and facilities

We operate as a lean team, bringing in specialists as needed.
